Brush Your Teeth, Kids

This morning, Gramma asked me a question that caused me much distress. I am self-conscious about my teeth because my lateral incisors (the the teeth that flank the two front teeth on top) are not straight. It is nothing dramatic, but it matters to me. I do take good care of my teeth, flossing and brushing, etc.

So when Gramma asked me, "Have you brushed your teeth at all in the past week?" from the next room, I was frozen in my tracks.

"Yes! Why do you think I haven't been?" Did my breath melt faces? Were my teeth turning horribly yellow? Nothing could have prepared me for Gramma's answer:

"Well, your tooth brush is always in the same place, laying behind the faucet--it never moves."

Now I am in disbelief. Yes, my toothbrush always prostrate on my tube of tooth paste behind the faucet. I try and think of a way to reassure her that her eldest granddaughter is brushing her teeth.

"Do you notice that my tube of toothpaste is getting emptier every day?"

"Well, I bought you another tube! It's right on the sink."

"Yes, but there's still some left in the tube I am using. . ."

Just to clarify, I have really been brushing my teeth. In fact, she asked me this as I was coming down the stairs from being in the bathroom taking a shower and brushing my teeth.

Living it up and brushing my teeth, here at the farm!
